This download will work only if you
already have V6.0 or later software. To determine the version of your

After downloading the software, run
DigitalEditionV63.exe and follow the instructions. Installing Digital Edition Products
After This Service Pack
In addition to several program files
this service pack also installs several data files in order to fix problems
with the Find Page functionality. However, if you subsequently install a
dataset (a Digital Edition product for any geographic region) that was
released before this service pack, those data files will be overwritten by
earlier, incorrect versions. If this should occur, you can correct the
problem by re-running this service pack. Release Notes
Product enhancements and bug fixes that
have been made since the V6 software initial release are described below. Find Dialog (all tabs)
No longer displays states in the State
drop-down box if there are no cities in the state for the dataset. Find Pages
Fix for situations where duplicate page
numbers exist: append the product name to the page number to distinguish
them. Some invalid pages were
previously being displayed. The last page in the file was not
getting displayed when the user does Find All Pages. Bugs were fixed for cases that occurred
when doing multiple searches in a state that was not the default state for
the dataset. Now ignores leading/trailing spaces in
city/ZIP Find Address
Prevent Query/Edit window from popping
up on top of Find dialog after an address lookup. Fix bug: Address lookup was not
displaying address suffix Find POI
When doing Show on Map, it zoomed in too
far. Find Name
Returned search results when the name
was a poor match but the city matched (i.e., when search without a city, no
matches are displayed; but when search for the same name with a city, matches
are displayed). The grading algorithm was fine-tuned to display results only
when there was a good match with both the name and the city. Print Preview Menu Item Missing
Fix bug: was deleting the Print Preview
menu item if Toolbox
was not installed and only a single dataset was installed. User Points
Make points created by an address lookup
use the user's last point style. Fix bug: If switch to a dataset that
doesn't yet have any user points, get error. Fix bug: when a user point file is
created and then the user switches to adifferent dataset, it gave the
following error: Fix bug: when switching to a different
year of the same dataset, the user points table was not being switched. Internet Maps/Map Exchange
Was failing to retrieve downloaded
internet files from the cache (causing it to always re-download files that
had previously been downloaded). Fix errors that previously occurred when
downloading certain layers from the Map Exchange. Switch Dataset
When switching datasets, didn’t
redraw in the new dataset area if no current extents had been previously
saved for the current user. Scale Bar
A scale bar displaying distances in
either feet or miles is now drawn in the lower right corner of the map. Add option to turn off scale bar Opening Dialog
New design for the opening dialog Dockable WindowsThe Overview Map and Query/Edit windows are dockable windows that may be either docked to the main application window or undocked in which case they float independent of the main window. When floating, it was possible to push them beyond the top or bottom of the screen. If this were to happen there would be no way to get them back (except to edit the registry). This update provides a new menu item that allows you to redock these windows to the main application when this happens. See the new menu item under the View menu: Dock Overview and Query. General
If no CD-ROM in drive, exit app
immediately rather than opening with no map (previously, it just showed Rand
McNally & Company logo tiled in the map window). Don't display "No matching
dataset" error message if the real problem is no CD in drive. Toolbox

Digital Edition software that provides additional mapping and drawing

store for more details. User Drawing Files
Fix bug: Previously, if you tried to open a user drawing file
that was created with an older year's Digital Edition, it would require you to
insert the older Digital Edition CD. This is no longer necessary. Fix bug: error message while trying to
open a user drawing file that was saved by the V5 software. Fix bug: Draw line, set thickness to
max. Save drawing. Close Drawing. Opening Drawing, Open in print preview - it
will have become thin for print and print preview. Fix bug: Crash after moving vertices of
a polygon, then selecting various drawing tools followed by Query/Select Fixed bug: option to vary label size
with the map scale did not work. Fix bug: polygon border style properties
was not being saved. Fix bug: prevent error messages when
user double-clicks on a user drawing file without having the CD-ROM in a
drive. Fix bug that wouldn't allow selecting of
user drawing objects. Query Builder
Fix bug: locks up if you press enter in
value field with no text in the field. (Actually, it displayed a message box
but the msg box was invisible behind the topmost QB dialog.) Also, fixed an error which occurred if
you entered a value in the Value column and there were no values available in
